The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the biggest World Cup in history. Here's a summary: It will take place in 3 countries simultaneously: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. It's the first time the World Cup will have 3 host countries. For the first time, there will be 48 teams instead of 32. The tournament will have: 12 groups with 4 teams each. The top 2 teams from each group advance. Plus the 8 best third-placed teams. Then the knockout stage begins with 32 teams. There will be 104 games in total, many more than the 64 in previous World Cups. The World Cup will take place from June 11th to July 19th, 2026. The opening match will be at the historic Azteca Stadium and the final at MetLife Stadium. Basically: more countries, more teams, more games, and a gigantic World Cup.
